Austrian group interested in Vlora

VLORA, Sept. 19 – Austrian group “STRABAG SE” has expressed interest in the port city of Vlora. That was shown with the visit recently from the group’s head and owner Dr. Hans Peter Haselsteiner. The Austrian group has an annual turnover of 10 billion euros. It is interested to expand its investment in central and southeast Europe. “We are interested to extend our investment in Albania where there have been created the proper political conditions,” said the Austrian manager. The Austrian group may be interested in projects in infrastructure like roads, tourism, sport medicine and other areas. during two days of his visit Haselsteiner would identify these areas. “Bauholding STRABAG” was founded in 1895 in Germany and then moved to Austria. It numbers some 500 branches worldwide. Haselsteiner is one of the richest persons in Austria. He was also involved in politics with the Liberal Forum and became a member of parliament in 1994-1999. an important part of the shares in the consortium are owned by Raiffeissen Bank. It is involved in big projects in infrastructure in Austria and Germany. It is one of the most well known construction companies in Europe. It applies an advanced technology.
