New 2,000 leks banknote soon in the market

TIRANA, Oct. 11 – The central Bank of Albania announced Wednesday that it is to issue a new 2,000 lek banknote. There are now banknotes starting from 100 leks followed to 200, 500, 1,000 and 5,000 leks. The BoA said it would make the announcement about the characteristics of the new banknote and the timing when it will be issued and put in the market.
