TIRANA, August 4 – For four consecutive nights the southeastern Albanian city of Korca will host its traditional beer festival, one of the biggest events held in Albania during summer.
The festival scheduled for August 11 to 14 will also bring live musical performances by the best singers and bands in Albania, and entertainment for adults and children through different events.
Earlier this year, Beer Fest, the largest festival in Albania, was honored with the Albanian Tourism Prize by the National Tourism Agency.
The concept for the beer festival began in 2007, continuing in full throughout the following years in all its components. Besides the festival concept and complete package that it offers (infrastructure, participation, show, decorative elements, etc), organizers have used a communications and promotion strategy that has directed the Kor衠beer festival to an unconditional success.
The jury qualified Beer Fest as one of the best-practice examples for other cities of Albania and honored it with the Albanian Tourism Prize for 2010, as an ongoing effort of the Municipality, private businesses and social groups from the city of Kor衠and their contributions to the strengthening of the Albanian tourism sector.
Beer Fest has become, in this manner, a fixed date in calendars, drawing national and international attention.
Beer Fest ….only in Kor衍
Last year, thousands of visitors chose Kor衠and some 140,000 glasses of beer were consumed in four nights of Beer Fest.
Following the success of the past four years, Kor衠organized its 5th Annual Beerfest in August of 2010, with it multiplying in all components. Korca’s beerfest marked the peak of tourist season in the city. And with the wide success of the Beer Fest and other events, Kor衠has been at the center of summer fun in Albania.
To compliment the thousands of citizens from Kor衠who attended, thousands of visitors and tourists, both domestic and foreign, chose not to miss Kor衧s Beerfest as well. The Beer Fest brings many musical performances of both traditional Albanian music and popular foreign music. On the final night, the Beer Fest concluded with two well-known foreign musical artists Elita 5 Live and the famous Greek singer, Lefteris Pantazis.
Contributors of different beer and food included: Birra Kor衬 Birra Kaon, Birra Skopsko, Birra Peja, Birra Bavaria, the companies “Fix”, “Caca”, “Tanka” and the dessert company “Dajana”.
